Although I must say Rarity would probably be the best of the mane 6 to court Fluttershy. Too bad I can't ship Rarity anything other than Straight. I also can't ship Fluttershy, Applejack, or Rainbow Dash as lesbians either.

I have no idea whom disagreed but I totally agreed with it. I love me some FlutterDash. But that's simply because I identify with Fluttershy like a bunch, and I like a guy who is very much like Rainbow Dash in so many ways. So that's my main reason for loving that ship.

Flutterdash just does not work. Do I need to point out Dragonshy, where Dash called flutters dead weight through out? Or how about the Cutie Mark Chronicles, where she didn't notice Fluttershy falling to her death? And before you bring up Sonic Rainboom, Dash only wanted Flutters there because she was the only one who could fly. Soon as Twi busted out the cloud spell, Dash ignored Shy for the rest of the ep.

I'm going to have to agree with Bookpony, but for different reasons. Even though they are friends, I think their personalities clash too much for them to date. Fluttershy needs someone with patience and tact. Two things that Rainbow Dash lacks. And Rainbow needs someone with enough of a backbone to tell her no or when to back off. Something that Fluttershy lacks.

Fluttershy needs someone with patience, someone who can build up confidence and someone that's ok with her being shy and timid. Among the characters that we know on the show, Twilight, Rarity and Big Mac are the best candidates. Luna is also a possibility, but I think her love for dark and spooky things (like a cape that turns into bats for example) would be too much for Fluttershy to handle.

Rainbow Dash on the other hand would do best with Applejack, Twilight or Big Mac.

Well this is all true, there are some other things to consider.

Out of all the Mane 6, Flutter and Dash have known each other the longest. They're also randomly seen together in Party of One. Their duet in the recent episode should also be noted, as well as Fluttershy's visible disappointment about RD being left out.

It's not as strong as other pairings absolutely, but it doesn't not work.
